Wolves on Watch
Thuringia, Helgoland continent, New Dusseldorf
Thuringia, Helgoland continent. The city of Thuringia is the smallest and newest city on New Dusseldorf. Citizens of Thuringia tend to view Lila Hamburg as filled with soft arrogant snobs and Brandenburg full of spiteful bigots. While those in Lila Hamburg spend their time on art, rather than hard work, and those in Brandenburg turn on anyone different, the small community of Thuringia make a point of avoiding both mistakes and remaining practical. Hard work should suffice to eke a living from the land, not policing any possible distraction from this work.
Since the invasion, the city has earned a bad reputation for effectively welcoming the Clan Wolf invaders. With a long history of welcoming outsiders and fostering tolerance, the people of Thuringia refused to shun the aliens or participate in other passive resistance efforts in the months after the invasion. They did, however, refuse to change their way of life to fit the system of Clan Castes or any other social dictates from Clan Wolf. Unexpectedly, this was tolerated in the case of this one city (in large part due to their lack of hostility after the invasion), which has further alienated Thuringia from the bulk of the Lyran population. The Clan Wolf reasoning appears to be that Thuringia is a stable and functional pocket of Inner Sphere civilisation and as Wardens the appropriate response is “if it is not broken, do not fix it”. Currently Thuringia and the portion of Helgoland it controls is officially an autonomous ‘Lyran Cultural Reservation’ by order of Clan Wolf.
